THE PROJECT
This had been a long-running project idea of my dad's, but he
didn't have much CAD experience and asked me to help turn it
into a buildable design. Together, we measured the basement
and worked out what the entertainment center needed to fit.
I then modeled the full system in CAD, including space for the
TV and two rolling drawers we salvaged from a discarded cabinet.

DESIGNED AROUND WHAT WE HAD
One of the main constraints was also the point of the project:
the entire structure had to be buildable from black painted or
coated wood panels recovered from furniture my dad had collected
in our garage.
I designed around the dimensions of those available pieces so we
could reuse as much material as possible instead of buying new
sheet goods. After finalizing the CAD, we spent months cutting,
fitting, and assembling the design together.
